After discovering Skinny Dip London’s blinging accessories scattered across the shelves in the flagship store of Topshop in Oxford Circus, we couldn’t wait to discover what this brilliant brand were all about.
Founded by Lewis Blitz, James Gold and Richard Gold in 2010, this trio of creative boys decided to create a range of unique, bespoke products to push aside the boring accessories that were around on the high street. Starting out by working at home, the boys spent six months designing their ideas, until they then set up their very own studio. With the ambition to merge fashion trends with current technology, the ideas for Skinny Dip London were starting to come together.
It was after an appearance on the BBC TV series Dragon’s Den that the boys knew they had started something very special indeed. The trio received offers from three of the dragons, which they declined much to everyone’s surprise. However, that did not mean the end of the brand; it was only just the beginning. Going it alone, this technological dream team now produce brightly coloured accessories sold in some of the best-known brands across the UK.
From tablet covers to mobile phone cases, hat headphones and clutch bags, this brand has it all. If it’s diamante and sparkly you’re after, then you can pick yourself some bling and make answering your phone even cooler. iphone cases range from £12-£18, and guarantee to make heads turn when you are strolling through the London streets.
