Twice a year the fashion obsessed of us descend on New York for fashion week, and this autumn events are bound to be no different, with events being held from 8th – 15th September 2016.
For all of you fashionistas out there we know you’ll be looking to hit the hottest catwalks by day, hunting down the must-have trends for spring/summer 2017. Where to eat
We know fashion week can be exhausting and time-consuming, so it’s important to refuel in between the bumper-to-bumper events that you’ll be squeezing in. Whether you’re looking to grab a quick bite or you’re looking to indulge in something a little heartier, here are our must-visit spots to hit this September for the ultimate chic eats.
You’re bound to need a caffeine fix in the mornings to get you going and keep you on your feet through the long fashion week days, find your almond latte fix at Café Grumpy over on 200 West 39th Street!
Looking for next level veggie sushi? Beyond Sushi Chelsea Market located on 75 Ninth Avenue has the dream healthy menu you’ve been lusting after. 100% vegan eatery, that celebrates the flavours and beauty of locally sourced, seasonal produce. Fresh sushi rolls, made with multi-coloured grains, fresh cut veg and fruit, all paired with a tofu-based sauce.
Grab a few drinks and some bar food at The Happiest Hour, offering two bars with different vibes and menus. There’s the speakeasy bar beneath, Slow Shirley, the perfect hang out for couples or small group gatherings. The Happiest Hour however offers great drinks – with a name like that would you expect anything else? And tasty bar food in a retro-style setting (we recommend the Avocado Grande Sandwich, delicious), find it on 121 West 10th Street!
Who can say no to Italian food? Surround yourself with tasty Italian food and beautiful blooms at Palma, with a dining room that is filled with flowers, rustic tables and paper lamps it’s the perfect place to properly go to town and enjoy a sit down meal in a nice setting. Head over to Palma on 28 Cornelia Street towards the end of your trip to indulge in some authentic Italian eats.
Where to party
Sink into one of the cosy leather banquettes and spend some time at Café Clover on 10 Downing Street, where you might spot some celebs and surround yourself with the cool crowd.
The place to be seen during New York Fashion week is undoubtedly Mr Fongs, the new cool-kid hot spot, it’s the “it” bar for the fashion elite in an unassuming location on Market Street – it has been an unlikely hit and you’re sure to find your fill of cocktails to see you through the night here!
Find Bar SixtyFive at The Rainbow Room over on 30 Rockerfeller Plaza, Manhattan’s most elevated lounge experience offers handcrafted cocktails by top mixologists, set in a historic gem that is undoubtedly one place you can’t not be seen at fashion week. The perfect place to sip on a cocktail and look out over the cityscape.
Hidden behind the back of a pawn shop (bear with us here), you’ll find Beauty & Essex – with its glamourous clientele, free champagne in the bathrooms, and great cocktails: you can’t go wrong if you find yourself here.
