Daniel Engelke is a freelance journalist, editor, and film director living in New York City. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in film and video from Columbia College Chicago, with an emphasis in cinema studies.

Along with writing for The Upcoming, Daniel acts as editor for literary criticism blog Living with Literature and video hosting site Seminal Cinema Outfit. His work has been published in Film Monthly, Den of Geek, and Quarterly Review.
