This well-established haunt in the heart of Soho is perfect for those seeking an elegant meal set against the backdrop of the hotel’s chic boutique décor. Diners of all tastes will be spoilt for choice with an enticing menu offering four options for each course, including the traditional favourites. At £95 this is by no means a budget option but it is sure to be a decadent Christmas meal worth every penny.

If you want to add a little spice to your Christmas then head to the popular Cinnamon Kitchen in east London. The £60 three-course menu includes a welcome aperitif and it’s an enticing twist on tradition with starters like partridge breast with pickle spices or grilled aubergine and peanut crumble. There is no turkey on offer but there are nonetheless tantalising main course options, including goose breast with cafreal spices or stone bass with masala parsnip.

This trendy eatery within the Holborn branch of the Hoxton Hotel has a quirky Italian-inspired menu for the day. Think beef carpaccio or diver scallops to start and, if you don’t opt for the smoked turkey leg, try spaghetti squash carbonara or rose veal for main. Just make sure to save room for the orange chocolate and cherry trifle to finish, sure to be a winner. £65 per person, or for something a little extra special add truffle for £85.

Dishes stray from average, with introductions of horseradish gnocchi, rare seared tuna and blood orange sorbet with Christmas vodka, followed by pan-fried monkfish, West Devon lamb or turkey with fig and chestnut stuffing. Just remember to keep room for dessert: the chocolate crème brulee with gingerbread cookies is bound to be a popular choice.
