Once you discover Debra Baxter’s jewellery, you’re left feeling simply inspired. Considering jewellery in a whole new light, the DB/CB ‘Crystal Bomb’ collection highlights a sheer passion for the beauty of rocks and minerals.

DB/CB Brass Knuckles

Baxter, after graduating with a master in Fine Arts in 2007, first became a sculptor with a passion for designing constructions out natural resources – revealing a desire to feel safe and protected. In 2009, she began using her skills to design her signature crystal brass knuckles: pieces of jewellery that made her realise how powerful such materials could look on the human anatomy. Her inspiration, fed from a childhood obsession with the Crystal Fortress in the movie Superman, now provides us with access to jewellery from a completely different context.

The breathtaking look of these unusual crystal shapes on the body led Baxter’s work to develop and interpret the human form in more detail. Concepts such as power, play and vulnerability were expressed through a variation of crystals, alabaster and minerals. This led to the simply magical ‘Crystal Bomb’ collection being produced. DB/CB pieces are designed to give power to the wearer and each piece is truly individual and unique.

Baxter’s work has since been displayed in cities all over the world, including London, New York and Paris, and has earned her a rightful place within the jewellery field. The pieces may be pricey, but they are made with a lot of love and are, beyond doubt, artistic masterpieces.
