Freak Factory: Love. Popeye.

Freak Factory: Love. Popeye.

Sailors, goddesses, love and pop culture: four things the European label Freak Factory have unveiled in their latest spring/summer collection.

Entitled Love. Popeye., the collection features nautical in homage to the sailor, as well as darker, bolder colours for the erotic Roman goddess Venus. Here, head designer Jeva Bartuseviciute has created a powerful love story by unifying fair and dark, light and heavy, and natural and treated materials.

However, by keeping their signature patterns of Japanese woodcut and pop design, Freak Factory’s collection remains edgy and strong with a hint of femininity. The nautical print ruffle dress is a perfect example of this, as is their black lace skirt and grey knit ensemble. But be warned, although the garments are interesting and eccentric, they are not for the faint-hearted.
