Halle Berry and Michael Kors fight hunger
It’s when people come together to make a difference to people’s lives around the world that there comes hope for a better tomorrow. The divine Halle Berry and fabulous Michael Kors are collaborating to help put a stop to world hunger through the United Nations Food Programme, aka WFP. This organization provides help for poverty-stricken people and families who cannot find, or even afford, food.
Mr Kors announced his involvement with the WFP charity in January and has been raising money through a campaign and multiple, glamorous events. He has stated that Halle Berry “brings talent, energy, generosity, and of course star power to a cause that is extremely important to me”. Together, the powerful pair have designed two cool, funky watches as part of Michael Kors’ Watch Hunger Stop campaign. For every watch sold, one hundred meals will be given to starving children through the WFP charity.
The star herself, Halle Berry says that: “Statistics show that women play a crucial role in defeating hunger…WFP is especially focused on providing assistance to women because… they will improve the future for their families and communities”. We are sure that with the couple’s stardom and their ability to reach out to their fans that as a base, we will be one step closer to defeating the world hunger that causes death, loss and illness. Halle Berry goes on to say “It’s an effort I’m eager to be a part of because I’m certain we can make a real and substantial difference in the lives of people in need”. And we fully support that statement Ms Berry!
In order to see how their work turns into reality, the pair will travel with the charity to areas that are affected by the traumatic experience of poverty.
Furthermore, Michael Kors will be giving a talk at the Vogue Festival, which is occurring this year on April 27th and 28th.
