LA Splash reveals new line of Harry Potter lipsticks
Calling all Gryffindors, lipstick lovers and Muggles; this new line of Harry Potter-inspired lipsticks is going to blow your mind. Buzzfeed released an article just a few days ago, rejoicing the news that cosmetic brand LA Splash had released a collection of liquid matte lipsticks, all in the name of our favourite wizard.
The magical collection consists of 12 shades, each named after characters of the film and Hogwarts houses. Ranging from deep greens, reds and blues, to bright turquoise, pinks and nudes, you are no doubt sure to find a colour you will love. A lot of the shades are very autumnal and have already proven to be incredibly popular.
Nagini is a very dark green, almost ethereal and perfect for adding some cooler colour to our autumnal palette. Nymph Adora is more of an everyday lip; with a neutral shade and a matte finish, it would look great with copper eyeshadow and black lashes. Hermione is a sweet pink; a perfect girly yet strong colour, just like the lady herself.
Some Potter fans however, aren’t too keen to put their wands and brooms down and swap them for lippy just yet. Some feel the shades of lipsticks are not true to the books and do not reflect the characters at all.
Facebook user Samantha Miller commented underneath the Buzzfeed article, saying: “Just because they took the names from a book, they think they’re great and geeky. The colours they used for each one are just no. Bellatrix should have been that deep, deep red she wore. Sirius should have been close to black in colour. The navy for Bellatrix should have been Ravenclaw. It’s just a mess.”
Whether you are happy about the collection or not, we must admit we are pretty excited. Each piece is £9 and available on the LA Splash website. But you better be speedy, because we heard through our owl, that they are selling quickly!
