Met Gala 2016: Best beauty

The 2016 Met Gala took place last week and a whole host of celebrities showcased their take on the theme, Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology, both through fashion and beauty.

Whilst many eyes were on the outfits, the beauty looks were equally as mesmerizing. Kristen Stewart was one of the boldest and coolest of the night. She rocked geometric silver eyelids, created with Chanel cosmetics, and kept the rest of her make-up simple. She completed the look with a plaited half-up hairstyle.

Another star who looked to metallic hues for inspiration was Ciara. The singer opted for sparkling silver hair, a dark smoky eye and glossed lips.

Some celebrities chose to completely overhaul their usual look, including Kim Kardashian-West and her beau Kanye. Although Kim’s hair was still dark and her contouring was as “Kardashian” as it always is, she bleached her dark eyebrows to a lighter shade. Meanwhile, husband Kanye wore icy blue contact lenses to totally amp up his look.

Victoria’s Secret model Lily Aldridge transformed her thick, dark eyebrows to futuristic gold, and paired with a copper lip. Similarly to many of the stars on the red carpet, she wore her hair in a sleek and timeless ponytail.

A few guests bypassed the Manus x Machina theme but still had stunning beauty looks – especially Jessica Chastain, who was dressed in a cobalt blue gown that contrasted her auburn locks and wine-pink lipstick superbly.
