September’s Hottest Pop-ups

September’s Hottest Pop-ups

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be picking out a selection of great events and intriguing culinary experiences on offer in the capital. As we move into September, there is still plenty of time to get out into the sun and visit a few of the pop-ups that are happening throughout London.

Waffle Lion

The menu at Waffle Lion is simple but enticing, featuring one sweet and two savoury waffles, made using fresh, seasonal ingredients. You’ll only get one chance to snap them up though: this popup will be appearing for just a single night, from 6pm at The Common on the 8th of September.

The lineup will include:

  • Slow roasted mutton shoulder with sticky pomegranate molasses, maple syrup yogurt, pomegranate seeds and fresh mint

  • Ragstone Goats Cheese, caramelised onions and rocket, drizzled with maple syrup

  • Blackberries and whipped cream, drizzled with maple syrup

Anyone in technology will tell you: Virtual Reality (VR) is going to be the next biggest thing. Hotly anticipated by gamers across the world for years, the acquisition of leading forerunner Oculus Rift by Facebook marked a new world of possibilities. One such possibility is demonstrated in this innovative popup that will allow drinkers to down their pints in a setting of their choosing, all thanks to VR headsets. Sip a stout in the Scottish Highlands.

Oktoberfest

After last year’s absolute fiasco of an event, most people in the capital are looking for a slightly more stable way to celebrate Oktoberfest. In steps Bierschenke, a traditional beer hall with friendly staff, good prices and great food. Their passion for all the teutonic delights a heaped plate of sausages can bring adds an authentic charm rarely seen elsewhere in the capital. The promise of free schnapps for those wearing Lederhosen and other tradition dress is sure to appeal too.
