Tomorrow a new rooftop destination is opening at Tobacco Dock in Wapping. Themed around a British urban lawn club, Skylight will combine croquet and petanque with cocktails and street food, promising a summer experience like no other in the city.

Occupying the top three levels of a former car park in the heart of East London, the 600-capacity space will feature multiple bars, three croquet lawns, petanque courts and street food stalls, all set against some of the finest views in the city.

With bars on every level, refreshing cocktails and summer pitchers will sit alongside signature spritzes and bubbles by the glass and bottle, while ice cold ciders and beers will quench thirsty throats on hot summer nights. The raised Blue Moon bar and lounge sky terrace will boast the most incredible views, and will be the perfect spot to enjoy a drink while watching the sun set and the moon rise.

On top of the drinks offer, Skylight features some exciting names from the street food scene: East London burger maestros We Serve Humans will be serving up their famous Chairman burger; Greek street food brand Yiro will be creating mouthwatering souvlaki all night long; and Kra Pow will be delivery the best from Northern Thailand to the good people of London

Created by Interact and the team behind Tobacco Dock, this original rooftop project will breathe a new life into an unused space in central London. With extensive regeneration in Wapping establishing the area as a place to go out and have fun, Skylight will be a new addition to what is quickly becoming a hub for creative Londoners. Perfectly situated between the thriving scenes of Shoreditch and Peckham, and brushing shoulders with both Canary Wharf and The City, Skylight boasts unobstructed views of some of London’s most iconic buildings, such as the Shard, the Gherkin and the Walkie Talkie.

This new bar captures the essence of a quintessentially British garden party and transports it into an exciting urban setting. Its signature lawn games will be perfect activity for heady summer nights. An assortment of indoor and outdoor games will feature across the different levels of the venue, including two petanque courts, lawn bowls and three croquet lawns. With prices starting from £15, teams made up of two to six people will be able to book the game of their choice in half hour or hour slots and groups of all sizes can book in advance.
