Veuve Clicquot brings retro chic to Selfridges this Christmas with concept store Le Tram

With last Christmas little short of a write-off thanks to the rather stubborn presence of a well-known virus, it seems the festive spirit is back earlier and stronger than ever this winter season. And what better way to make the most of the renewed sense of cheer than indulging in a refined tipple at one of the most prestigious spots on London’s premier high street?

Cue the return of Veuve Clicquot’s Le Tram to Selfridges London. This year, the champagne house is not only going retro, but also “retro-chic”! Taking over the bar and retail space on the ground floor of the department store, Le Tram will transport guests to a 70s and 80s-inspired installation, centring around iconic retro objects such as the audiocassette tape.

Amidst the installation, customers can find an intimate ten-seated bar offering a unique menu of Veuve Clicquot champagne and curated cocktails, including a Pear and Ginger Mule, Belvedere Organic Infusion Blackberry and Lemongrass Vodka and Eminente Rum. In one corner, guests can find a lounge area where they can play their own song through retro speakers and be transported back to festive moments of yesteryear.

Plus, the sense of nostalgia will further be heightened by this year’s iteration of the Veuve Clicquot personalised bottle – The Veuve Clicquot Tape. As part of a celebration of the House’s love of beautiful objects, the limited-edition bottle is a true homage to the audiocassette tape. And for those seeking the ultimate Christmas gift, there’s the option to add a personalised message in the shape of an authentic mixtape label: browse from 300 gift messages inspired by song lyrics or type your own on a retro typewriter. The Clicquot Tape limited edition, which also features 100% recyclable packaging, can be ordered at the store or online at www.selfridges.com.
