Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock: Interviews with Halle Stanford, Alex Cuthbertson, Matt Fusfeld, Mokey, Wembley, Red, Boober and Gozo

Jim Henson’s fun-loving Fraggles make a welcome return to our screen in a brand new 13-part series called Fraggle Rock: Back To The Rock. This reboot of the classic series features the Fraggles – Red, Boober, Gozo, Mokey and Wembley – with some new friends who together impart tales of adventure, musical merrymaking and magical antics.

This updated version keeps intact the original iconic settings of the Gord Garden, Trash Heap and the underground world of Fraggle Rock, whilst slight adaptations using modern puppetry and technology enhance the visual experience for a contemporary audience.

The main focus of the show remains as it always did: to encourage storytelling with messages of purpose, including world peace and working together in co-existence with other species and different personalities, and ultimately presents them in a way that children can understand.

We had the pleasure of speaking to the show’s executive producer Halle Stanford, who shared what brought about the Fraggles series reboot, what inspired each of the episode storylines and which of the characters is secretly her favourite.

Showrunners Matt Fusfeld and Alex Cuthbertson talked to us about working together again on this series and what messages of hope viewers can take away from the show.

We also spoke to characters Wembley and Mokey about living in Fraggle Rock, plus made an attempt to make up a poem and sing a little song!

Red, Boober and Gozo then told us their favourite things to do, what it’s like living in their home of Fraggle Rock and the importance of friendship and what it really means to them.
