Yotam Ottolenghi is about to open a new deli in Richmond, marking the first Ottolenghi location south of the River Thames. The new establishment, Ottolenghi Richmond, will be launching on February 26th at 36 Hill Street, offering a range of breakfast and à la carte dining options. 

Championing the trademark food style rooted in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean traditions, as well as drawing in diverse influences and ingredients from around the world, Ottolenghi Richmond will present signature vibrant dishes, including piled-high platters of salads, towering meringues, and an array of celebrated pastries and cakes. Additionally, the menu will comprise bespoke recipes inspired by the local Richmond area. The deli will provide breakfast, lunch, and takeaway options, ensuring a comprehensive dining experience from early morning to evening.

In a statement, Yotam Ottolenghi expressed his enthusiasm about the new location: “It took longer than we expected, but we are finally here! In picturesque Richmond, the happiest place to live in London, I hear. I love walking along the river in the summer and I can’t wait to be here in all seasons, get to know the local crowd and feed them some seriously delicious salads and cakes.”

The breakfast menu at Ottolenghi Richmond will include popular dishes such as buttermilk pancakes and the Ottolenghi Shakshuka with smoked labneh and grilled focaccia. The lunch options will entail a variety of salads like char-grilled broccoli with chilli and garlic, and roasted aubergine with different accompaniments. The deli will also have on the drinks list an array of natural and biodynamic wines, alongside a selection of cocktails.

Ottolenghi Richmond will not only serve food in-house but will also offer an extensive catering service for events, from small gatherings to large celebrations. Customers can order directly or via delivery platforms such as Slerp and Deliveroo, enjoying the Ottolenghi dining experience in their homes or workplaces.

The interior of the new deli has been designed by Alex Meitlis, Ottolenghi’s long-time collaborator, who has been responsible for the aesthetic of all Ottolenghi locations in London and the Geneva restaurant, the first international outlet of the brand, inaugurated in January this year. The deli also features bespoke artwork by Gilles & Cecilie Studio, adding a special visual element to the dining space.
