Jordan Firstman makes his directorial debut with Cannes comedy Club Kid

Jordan Firstman turns writer, director and leading man for Club Kid, a New York-set comedy that sees a hard-partying club promoter unexpectedly confronted with fatherhood. Following its premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, the film is heading to UK and Irish cinemas.

Firstman stars as a fixture of New York nightlife whose fast-paced existence is disrupted by the arrival of the ten-year-old son he never knew he had. The unexpected reunion forces him to reconcile his clubland lifestyle with a responsibility he had never imagined taking on.

Reggie Absolom and Babylon actor Diego Calva star alongside Firstman, with the ensemble also featuring Cara Delevingne, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Colleen Camp, Vicki Pepperdine, Nigil Whyte, Eldar Isgandarov, Saturn Risin9, Miss Benny and Alaska Riley.

The feature marks Firstman’s directorial debut after his work as an actor, writer and comedian, with the filmmaker also penning the screenplay. After introducing the film at Cannes, Club Kid now brings its collision of New York nightlife and unexpected parenthood to a wider cinema audience.
