Lili Reinhart puts romance to the test in The Love Hypothesis trailer
Prime Video has released the official trailer for The Love Hypothesis, the screen adaptation of Ali Hazelwood’s bestselling romance novel, starring Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman.
Reinhart plays Olive, a PhD candidate whose carefully focused academic life takes an unexpected turn when she discovers that her best friend Ahn (Rachel Marsh) has fallen for her crush Jeremy (Nicholas Duvernay).
Determined to prove that she has moved on, Olive impulsively kisses intimidating professor Adam Carlsen (Bateman). The unlikely encounter soon develops into a fake relationship, complete with rules, boundaries and an arrangement that appears to work for them both.
Inevitably, keeping things purely pretend becomes rather more complicated as the boundaries between their agreement and genuine feelings begin to blur.
Directed by Claire Scanlon and written by Sarah Rothschild, the film also stars Jaboukie Young-White and Arty Froushan. Hazelwood’s original novel became a New York Times bestseller after its publication in 2021.
With its fake-dating premise moving from the page to the screen, audiences can now get their first proper look at Reinhart and Bateman as Olive and Adam ahead of the film’s arrival next month.
