Nicola Walker and Jemaine Clement are heading back for more chaos in Alice and Steve season two

Disney+ has confirmed that Alice and Steve will return for a second season, with Nicola Walker and Jemaine Clement reprising their roles in the British comedy. Yali Topol Margalith and Joel Fry will also return for the series, which is created and written by Sophie Goodhart and produced by Clerkenwell Films.

The first season saw Alice (Walker) devastated to discover that her best friend Steve (Clement) had started dating her 26-year-old daughter Izzy (Topol Margalith). Determined to end the relationship, Alice’s efforts turned her friendship with Steve into an increasingly messy feud. The series ended on a cliffhanger, with Disney+ yet to reveal what awaits the characters when it returns.

Goodhart said of the renewal: “I am so thrilled that Alice and Steve has been given a second season. No one will be prepared for what happens next, especially not Alice and Steve.”

The first season received three awards at CANNESERIES, with its mix of friendship, family and an increasingly bitter feud culminating in a cliffhanger that left plenty unresolved. Disney+ is keeping what happens next under wraps for now, with Goodhart’s warning suggesting Alice and Steve’s troubles are far from over.
