LFW S/S 2016: Five most anticipated shows
With such a packed schedule over London Fashion Week, it can be tricky to prioritise. To make sure you don’t miss any of the most exciting designers and collections, we’ve put together a little list of the most highly-anticipated shows over the next week.
Fashion East
Lulu Kennedy’s Fashion East is always one to watch. As a platform for young talent, the show is guaranteed to bring something fresh and different to the overall LFW schedule. This season, the promising newcomers consist of Central Saint Martin’s grad, Caitlin Price, along with Richard Malone and This is the Uniform.
Hill & Friends
The new solo project from former Mulberry creative director, Emma Hill, has been a long time coming – two years, to be exact. However, if you’re one of the designer’s many fans, you’ll be pleased to know that she’s back with a highly-anticipated collection of accessories, which will launch during this London Fashion Week.
Gareth Pugh
A Gareth Pugh fashion show is never just a catwalk and models. It is always a spectacular, multi-sensory extravaganza, which leaves you feeling as though you’d been to see a drama rather than a fashion presentation. Last season, against the backdrop of the V&A’s Raphael gallery, he sent out a gothic army with St George’s crosses splashed across the faces; who can say what he will come up with this time around.
Versus
This week, expect high-octane Italian cool from Versace’s little sister, Versus, as it sweeps into London for the first time. However, the show’s location isn’t the only change; this season will also mark designer Anthony Vacarello’s first catwalk show for the label since he joined it as creative director earlier this year.
Sibling
Always witty, usually colourful and a whole lot of fun, Sibling will be back this week with the touch of quirky kitsch chic that LFW needs. Last season, it was all about patterned, oversize knits, but with a brand like Sibling, it’s impossible to predict what they will do next.
