Have to save money online

Have to save money online

Online coupons

If you want to make the most of the internet, there are websites which offer discounts on all manner of high-quality goods and exciting attractions. You can do things you’d only dreamed of like fly in a helicopter, enjoy a spa weekend or go bungee jumping at a fraction of the cost. Or if you prefer, you can purchase designer makeup, phones and unexpected items for unbelievable prices. Better still, online coupons make the perfect present: they are hugely flexible, and far more personal than the yearly pair of socks you buy for your dad.

Discount codes

Never buy anything online without checking if you can purchase it for less. With a simple code, you might be able to knock 20 per cent off your order, or maybe more. There are hundreds of specialised sites, or if you get an add-on for your browser, they will alert you when there are possible savings to be made. Don’t forget to check any website you buy from as they often advertise a seasonal code to enter upon checkout.

Book in advance

If you are going away, be sure to book as early as possible in order to make advance savings. On the Trainline.com, tickets are discounted if you order a few weeks before you travel (which makes all the difference given the standard cost of public transport). The same goes for Airline fees, which rocket as the time of departure nears. Naturally, this extends to accommodation: hotels and B and Bs are keen to book up their rooms and will offer competitive prices at earlier dates. It pays to be prepared!

Book (very) late

This may seem like a huge contradiction of what we just said, but if you are willing to wait very late to book your accommodation and live life on the edge, you are guaranteed to make significant savings. Sites dedicated to a spontaneous trip away like lastminute.com and LateRooms offer great deals in order to sell out their remaining spaces. Given that you could end up with absolutely anything, this is certainly not for everyone. But if you are up for a more adventurous holiday and you are willing to wait for a surprise, you could end up jetting to distant lands for a fraction of what your friends are paying.
