Stardust: An interview with Johnny Flynn and Gabriel Range

Stardust is a 2020 British-Canadian biographical film about the legendary David Bowie and his alter-ego Ziggy Stardust. Set in 1971, 24-year-old David Bowie embarks on his first road trip to America with Mercury Records publicist Ron Oberman, only to be met with a world not yet ready for him. The film offers an insight into how Bowie first created Ziggy Stardust; the turning point of his career that established him as a cultural icon.

We spoke to director Gabriel Range and Johnny Flynn – who plays Bowie – about what sets it apart from other music biopics, the challenges surrounding the production and how one goes about preparing to play one of the world’s biggest stars.

Stardust is released digitally on demand on 15th January 2021.
