A Glitch in the Matrix: Interview with director Rodney Ascher

A Glitch in the Matrix is “a documentary of sorts” about the notion of simulation theory. This is the question that has been around since Plato’s allegory of the Cave and garnered much popularity in The Matrix films; what if our world and everything in it isn’t real? The film includes a fascinating ensemble of people, including those who believe we are living in some kind of game simulation, as well as scientists and folk who have been investigating this remarkable thesis.

We spoke to director Rodney Ascher about his love of unsolvable mysteries, his research process for the movie and why this way of thinking has so much resonance now.

A Glitch in the Matrix is released digitally on demand on the 5th February 2021.
