Crazy Pizza’s At Home Tiramisù: A carefully crafted kit for the mouthwatering Italian dessert

Mastering the sacred art of tiramisù making could be a daunting prospect for many, especially beyond Italian borders. However, from Grandma’s traditional method to the most refined pastry chef’s recipe, the best instructions all share one simple secret that leads to success: the right and exact ingredients. And that’s where the kit by Crazy Pizza comes in handy. Landing on your doorstep in an elegant pizza box, as per the trademark style of the restaurant, it contains all the fundamental components to assemble your own tiramisù in a few easy steps.

A fine mesh strainer and a white apron are included – even in terms of equipment all we need to add to the table are a nice plate and a teaspoon before we are ready to start. The savoiardi biscuits would be enough for a single layer dessert. Once arranged in an orderly row, they need to receive their coffee bath. The piping bag contains the cream, characterised by a slightly foamy texture, already mixed. It’s worth being reminded here that as the sac a poche (pastry bag) contains raw eggs and soft cheese, so it has to be consumed within a couple of days at the most. Once the biscuits are covered by a rich coating, they are ready for the fridge. Half an hour of cooling is enough to ready them for the final touch: a generous sprinkle of cocoa powder, which falls lightly and evenly through the strainer.

The chain, founded by Italian businessman Flavio Briatore and with outposts located in some of the most luxurious places on the planet – from Riyadh to Monte Carlo – aims to offer an opulent array of ingredients and an indulgent taste of Italy within a vibrant, flashy setting. We can guarantee that one element is definitely not missing from the venue itelf, as far as our latest visit is concerned, which is the fun and welcoming service. Although that’s the only part that cannot actually be delivered directly to the house, their kits try to make up for the missed dining experience, helping Londoners in lockdown to conclude their meals – or have a substantial tea break – with the help of a mouthwatering Italian dessert.
