“I want this album just to make you feel good; I’m not going on anything apart from instincts”: Toby Sebastian on music, acting and collaborating with his sister Florence Pugh

“I want this album just to make you feel good; I’m not going on anything apart from instincts”: Toby Sebastian on music, acting and collaborating with his sister Florence Pugh

Toby Sebastian is not one to be boxed in. From an early age, his talent and passion for both music and acting have developed in tandem, resulting in him launching his own debut album, Into the Light, in 2013, with his recent singles earning him a One to Watch for 2023 title from Rolling Stone UK. He has also landed roles in shows such as Game of Thrones, portraying Andrea Bocelli in biopic The Music of Silence and in Trading Paint alongside John Travolta.

The Upcoming had the chance to have an all-encompassing chat with the artist ahead of his UK tour that takes in Brighton, Manchester, Oxford and London. He shared how his collaboration with his sister, Florence Pugh, on latest track Midnight came about, the development of his forthcoming record and his musical influences. We also discussed his parallel acting career, plus upcoming projects in Coffee Wars with Kate Nash and ITVX comedy series All You Need Is Me, working with The Libertines’ Carl Barat, Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz and Elvis Costello.
