Zia Lucia to debut UK’s first Aperol-infused pizza dough in Chelsea

Independent pizzeria brand, Zia Lucia, is poised to introduce a new gastronomic experience to Chelsea with the opening of its latest restaurant. On Thursday 25th July 2024, the establishment will unveil an innovative Aperol-infused pizza dough, marking a first in the UK. This special edition dough, featuring hints of orange, rhubarb, and gentian, offers a slightly sweet, subtly bitter, and refreshingly aromatic flavour profile that encapsulates the essence of the Italian Aperitivo Hour. Designed to complement a selection of toppings including mozzarella, fior di latte, wild broccoli, and spicy nduja, the Aperol dough will be available to guests while supplies last.

Located on Fulham Road, Zia Lucia Chelsea boasts a 46-seat capacity and offers sun-drenched alfresco seating, allowing diners to enjoy a 48-hour slow fermented pizza alongside a refreshing cocktail. Patrons have the option to choose from an award-winning selection of doughs, including traditional white flour, wholemeal, vegetable charcoal, and gluten-free options, topped with a variety of irresistible ingredients such as fiery nduja, spicy spianata salami, truffle sauce, honey, burrata, gorgonzola, and roasted pepperoni.

Gianluca D’Angelo, Co-founder of the concept alongside Claudio Vescovo, said “Opening in Chelsea, next door to the football stadium is something we have been planning since the very beginning. We found an amazing spot and can’t wait to spice up the pizza game in the neighbourhood“.

Since its inception in 2016 in Holloway Road, Zia Lucia has earned a reputation for blending authenticity with innovation in London’s pizza scene, offering a taste of Italian heritage with a contemporary twist. Following the success of the first outpost, more branches opened in London: Canary Wharf, West Hampstead, Wandsworth and Aldgate East. The new Chelsea location is set to continue this tradition, promising locals an array of mouth-watering pizzas and excellent drinks, all served with Zia’s signature neighbourhood charm. The cutting-edge edition of Aperol-infused pizza dough will be available for a limited time only.
