MUBI releases new stills from Christopher Andrews’s debut feature Bring Them Down ahead of Toronto premiere

MUBI, the global streaming platform, film distributor and producer, has unveiled a selection of new stills from the eagerly anticipated debut feature by Christopher Andrews, Bring Them Down. This riveting thriller, led by the talents of Christopher Abbott and Barry Keoghan, is set against the backdrop of rural Ireland, delving into the intense conflict between two farming families whose actions spiral into unforeseen and tragic consequences. The film is poised for its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2024, promising a special presentation that will mark a significant moment for all involved.

Bring Them Down not only features Abbott and Keoghan but also stars notable talents such as Colm Meaney, Nora-Jane Noone, Paul Ready and Susan Lynch. The film is a collaborative production effort by MUBI, Tailored, Wild Swim, and is co-produced by Frakas Productions, VOO et Be tv, and Shelter Prod. This cinematic venture is supported by Screen Ireland, Coimisiún na Meán, RTÉ, and the UK Global Screen Fund, showcasing an impressive international partnership.

The narrative centres around Michael, the youngest member of a shepherding family, who is haunted by the death of his mother and the ensuing isolation. As tensions with a neighbouring farmer escalate, Michael finds himself entangled in a harrowing sequence of events that force him to face the demons of his past, altering the lives of everyone involved forever.

Andrews, the visionary behind this feature, has already made a mark in the film industry with his BAFTA-longlisted shorts Fire and Stalker. Recognised as a Screen Star of Tomorrow in 2019, Andrews is also involved in several promising projects, including the script for the upcoming Cavendish and an adaptation of the Man Booker Prize-nominated Frankenstein in Baghdad.
