Hard Rock Cafe London celebrates Cinco de Mayo with special menu and live mariachi performance

Hard Rock Cafe London will celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a series of events and a limited-edition menu at both its Old Park Lane and Piccadilly Circus locations from 1st to 5th May 2025.

Cinco de Mayo, observed on the 5th of May, commemorates Mexico’s victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. While its historical roots are in Mexico, the day has evolved into a broader celebration of Mexican-American culture and heritage, now marked in various countries worldwide, including the UK.

For this year’s celebration, Hard Rock Cafes are offering several Mexican-inspired dishes. Among the options are Chips & Queso, as Hard Rock Cafe’s rendition with cheese sauce, seasoned ground beef, jalapenos, spring onions, and tortilla chips, starting at £12.95. Diners can add guacamole for £4.95 or Pico de Gallo for £2.96. Another option is the Steak & Chicken Queso Fajitas, served on sizzling platters with grilled meats, onions, peppers, and a range of accompaniments, starting from £21.95.

Drinks specials include 36oz Jumbo Margaritas priced at £19.95 each, available in three variations: Baja California Blackberry, Mexico City Mango, and Cancun Orange Cadillac. The Baja California Blackberry features Jose Cuervo Gold Tequila, Triple Sec, blackberry syrup, fresh berries, and margarita mix, while the Mexico City Mango combines Jose Cuervo Silver Tequila, Triple Sec, sambal chili, mango puree, and a spiced rim. The Cancun Orange Cadillac is made instead of a blend of Jose Cuervo Silver Tequila, Cointreau, orange juice, margarita mix, and Grand Marnier.

A highlight of the festivities is the live mariachi performance scheduled for 5th May, which this year falls on the Early May Bank Holiday, at Hard Rock Cafe Piccadilly Circus. The band, Mariachi Óle, is a London-based group with over 15 years of experience, known for performing traditional Mexican folk music using instruments such as guitar, bass guitar, and trumpet. The performance will take place from 18:00 to 18:45.

Both Hard Rock Cafe locations are known for their extensive music memorabilia collections, with the Old Park Lane site being the original venue established in 1971 and Piccadilly Circus opening in 2019 as the brand’s flagship in the West End.
