Converse presents Made by You campaignFashion & LifestyleNews & Features
Converse, the much loved footwear of our generation, whether shiny and new or bruised and battered, they are a staple garment and an icon of nostalgia, holding a special place in many hearts.
The brand behind the renowned Chuck Taylor All Stars has unveiled a new and innovative campaign for spring/summer 2015 named Made by You. The endeavour features portraits of long-lived pairs of Converse footwear that have been cherished and personalised by a host of famous faces such as Patti Smith, Karl Lagerfeld, Kate Lanphear and Jefferson Hack who have offered up their treasured Chucks to be showcased in the name of artistic self-expression. The purpose being to demonstrate the unique diversity given to the footwear by the creative individuals whom they are worn by – essentially, made by you.
The brand will be actively globetrotting, setting up pop-up studios, which will be displaying the campaign as well as other artistic ventures that have been created around Converse. They recently visited Shoreditch, London, armed with hundreds of Polaroid pictures of different Converse from an assortment of wearers, with the photographs then transformed into a figure of London by students from Central Saint Martins and artist, Damilola Odusote.
