Three up-and-coming locations in the UK to relocate toFeature of the week
With population in the countryside expected to increase dramatically by 2025, it seems we are no longer packing our bags and heading to the Big Smoke in search of jobs and accommodation. Towns and cities you might not have considered living in before are rising to the challenge of providing excellent housing, jobs and entertainment for people to relocate to and enjoy.
If you have no ties to your hometown or are looking for a new location to settle in, then consider one of these three up and coming locations in the UK, to relocate to:
Based in Cambridgeshire, the city is also an hours’ train journey from London, making it a commuter’s dream location to relocate to. This cathedral city is also an up and comer due to its ever-expanding business portfolio, providing jobs for thousands living in the city. With companies such as Compare the Market, CAT, Perkins Engines and Virgin Media providing job opportunities aplenty, as well as a thriving shopping centre and shopping parks dotted around the city it’s no wonder people are making the move.
Annual events make this city special, with the CAMRA beer festival taking place in August, as well as the Great Eastern Run and the Willow Festival.
Okay, this one is a capital city but it has only recently been noted as an ideal location to move to in order to experience a higher quality of life. Legal and General conducted a study into the best place to work, for the younger generation, and discovered that Cardiff is the location where younger workers claimed to achieve more job satisfaction from their employment, with 70% saying they love their job.
As well as great career opportunities the city is also affordable to live in and boasts a thriving artistic community and of course plenty of sporting events (aka rugby) to watch at the weekend. It’s also good to know that the city is modest in size, you can cycle from one end to another in 15 minutes – try doing that in London!
Named the “best place to live” in the UK Quality of Life Index back in 2013, Solihull still lives up to this title and is the ideal location to consider should you wish to relocate. Based nine miles from Birmingham, it offers a quieter, more relaxed version of the big city and is situated close to Birmingham airport and the NEC (National Exhibition Centre) which features a variety of huge exhibitions, shows and live concerts to enjoy throughout the year.
So what now? If you already own property and are ready for a quick move you could sell your house fast with We Buy Any Home or, if you have money saved, rent it out and enjoy some extra income. Visit the town before you make any decisions, look for work and choose a neighbourhood you can see yourself living in. It’s time to experience a new location!
