Lisa N Hoang spring/summer 2017 collection catwalk show for NYFW
Inside the Skylight at Clarkson Square, spectators awaited the anticipated show. The music was light and current which instantly set the mood for a trendy, young show. When seated and settled, many viewers started to open the gift bags which reviled a t-shirt with the LNH logo and a black makeup bag with lipstick. Giving each lucky front row seated viewer a piece of the show to take home.
The front row was star studded. From Gold metal-winning Olympians to plus sized super model Ashley Graham, the wide-eyed crowd was excited to see Lisa N Hoang’s spring/summer 2017 show.
The collection was one which could have been worn right off of the runway. Each piece told a story of a young girl, happy and ready to take the world by storm. Each look conveyed ease and wearable in many situations. The fabrics ranged from linen, light denim, cotton and tool which created light, comfortable and chic looks. The silhouettes fit the models’ slender bodies well and could have been worn from day to night.
The extent of the collections use of color was pale, cool tones with a few mixes of a dark hunter green and a navy. The color use added well to her story and concept of an easy going girl. The spring/summer 2017 collection played with the use of flower shape cut-outs in everything from skirts to tops. Lace was used as an embellishment to add a subtle hint of romance.
Each model had bleach white eye brows and wet looking curled down hair to give the ready-to-wear collection a bit of dramatics and show. This gave the looks a bit of high-fashion edge in a rather classic collection.
The craftsmanship of each piece was done well, and would make for the perfect runway to boutique situation, where many girls who know the brand or walk by on the street would stop by and leave with one of each. The heels were practical and comfortable and a muted accessory which added to the ready-to-wear looks. Any cool girl would look impeccable in Lisa N Hoang’s spring/summer 2017 collection.
