Every summer we start the usual intensive hunt for the perfect swimsuit to take on holiday, one which is flattering yet fashionable. It always proves to be a challenge and usually ends up with us desperately grabbing a handful of bikinis from any store we can find right before we head off on our holiday. The end result turns out not a success and we spend most of the time feeling paranoid about how we look. Not how a holiday should be spent!

This year we discovered Marysia swimsuits. Created by designer Maria Dobrzanska Reeves, the brand came about from her desire to create a boutique brand for the fashionable women of today with a flattering fit. Maria launched Marysia SWIM in 2008 and since then her swimsuits have found favour amongst editors and those seeking glamorous and sophisticated swimwear.

The collection is unique and so different from the typical standard bathing suit. The line offers traditional bra suits and vintage high waisted bottoms with ruffles and frill detailing. When you’re on holiday relaxing at the beach or sipping cocktails at the pool, you should feel comfortable and most of all, glamorous! Fashionable swimsuits are IN people! We love Marysia’s designs because they’re unique and they definitely qualify as high fashion swimsuits.

After the success of her first swimwear collection, Maria discovered that although she was perfectly outfitted for trips to the beach, her young daughter had nothing as chic to wear. So Maria set out to create a collection that would provide the same impeccable fit and thoughtful fit. The collection, called Bumby, a name affectionately used by Ernest Hemingway for his first born, can now be found in reigning retailed Barneys as well as national and international boutiques.

In February 2010, Marysia SWIM launched their e-commerce site to reach even more fans worldwide and add to the already growing international suppliers.

With so many amazing designs to choose from, it was hard to pick a favourite piece but we ended up deciding on the Acapulco bikini from the 2012 collection. Such a gorgeous colour and there is lovely detailing. We also really like that there are detachable straps that make it really flexible.  The fit is so flattering, we cannot wait to head straight to the beach in our new chic swimwear!
