The weather was perfectly accommodating for the mini festival yesterday, so we headed down early to experience the free jerk chicken, Marley’s Mellow Mood drinks and, of course, screenings of Kevin Macdonald’s critically acclaimed box office hit, Marley.

Marley’s Mellow Mood showed its continuing support for artists with fun that did not end until 3am, with a 14-hour marathon of up to 40 artists playing across three stages. The acts varied with bass music, dubstep, grime, reggae, hiphop and soul.

Roni Size represented the drum and bass genre along with artist Zinc. They both helped this genre go mainstream, and it is apparent as to why they succeeded, with seemingly effortless performances that moved the crowd.

Other acts to grace the three stages at Vibe Bar were Dynamite MC who made the crowd wild with his legendary performance. MC previously worked with Roni Size and it is clear that these two had a musical past with how they can both affect the crowd

Hosting the mini festival was DMC World Championship host Inja, and DJs kept the night flowing with music from Shepdog, Farm Yardies and the Positive Vibes Crew. There will be many people struggling to keep their eyes open today, that is for sure but it was definitely worth it.

Marley’s Mellow Mood and the brand will be undertaking a number of music, sporting and regeneration projects in 2012 that support these core values. For further information visit the project’s website here.
