Beautify yourself for Valentine’s Day

Beautify yourself for Valentine’s Day

As the big day of love is fast approaching, women around the country will be raiding their make-up stashes to find the perfect combination to give themselves that extra “oomph”.

At The Upcoming, we have decided to do all the hard work for you and showcase a few products you may like to use for 14th February this year, and to really beautify for the big day.

Before you look into what make-up to wear, why not start with a bronzed body? We personally love the Make Believe Instant Tan Bronzer Wash Off. It gives a completely natural and warm glow to the body, and leaves no patches or streaks behind, which is exactly what you want from a fake tanning product. As this tan is instant, you will see the results immediately and we think it really works well when you want a nice shade of tan for a night out – or in, for that matter!

On to make-up, and we are personally excited for the release of the new L’Oreal Nude Magique CC Cream. With all the furore behind the release of BB creams, this new CC cream tackles exactly what a BB cream would, but this time it tackles any tone issues too! There is one for people who have a lot of redness. There is one for anti-fatigue and also one for anti-dullness. Using a CC cream will even out your skin tone and leave you with a great finish, ready to apply the rest of your beauty routine on top!

To ramp up your normal eyeshadow look, go for a smoky eye instead with the help of the new Urban Decay Basics Palette. Following from the success of the other two Naked palettes, the latest offering from Urban Decay offers more matte shades in neutral nuances. This palette consists of six shades, including a nice smoky brown and black, which you can use to create that really sexy cat-eye look that has been spotted all over the runway. Pair this with some liquid liner and a touch of mascara and you’re good to go!

Finish off with a really pretty yet sexy lip colour. Revlon’s Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains really are great if you are looking for long-lasting colour. They come in the form of a twist-up crayon and are super simple to apply, plus they last all night!

Now there is one rule that gets bandied around in the beauty rule book, and that is go for a dramatic eye OR lip – never both. But seeing as it’s Valentine’s Day only once a year, why not break that rule and go for the shade Crush: a rich deep berry colour. Perfect for V Day!
