Everyone’s favourite luxurious brand Gucci has teamed up with Italian businessman and the heir to Fiat, Lapo Elkann.

As a man of many talents, Elkann is no stranger to fashion. He founded the Italia Independanta luxury brand of clothes and accessories and has frequented magazines such as Vanity Fair regularly. For this particular collection, entitled Lapo’s Wardrobe, Elkann has planned 27 looks along with Gucci’s creative director, Frida Giannini. Three quarters of the looks are menswear, with four looks for women including leather goods, shoes and even jewellery. The collection has been described as “a luxury sartorial service for the modern day gentleman”. Creative director Frida Giannini has said “Lapo perfectly embodies my vision of Italian style as an attitude, an instinct to interpret fashion in an individual yet sophisticated way.”

It offers a fresh new take on Gucci’s existing made-to-measure service and any customer will be assisted by staff during the process such as fabric selection, fitting, final touches and delivery which ranges from four to six weeks. Each piece is customisable and even includes the embossing of your own initials.

The range is said to be revealed in spring/summer 2013 menswear shows in Milan this September. The service will be available at Gucci boutiques in Milan, London, Paris, New York, Tokyo and Sao Paulo.
