British designer and businesswoman Cath Kidston gives the public a view of her success over the years by hosting a talk at the V&A.  The talk also focuses on the launch of her autobiography, titled Coming Up Roses.

The book celebrates the 20-year birthday of the Cath Kidston brand and tells the story of Kidston’s growing business.

Inspired by childhood nostalgia and love of the English countryside, Kidston started her business 20 years ago and has spread her inspiration across continents. She currently has an online shop and 59 retail stores throughout the UK, Ireland, Spain, Japan, Republic of Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong and China.

In the early days, Kidston focused on vintage-inspired interior household items that ranged from rose-printed cushion covers to flowery ironing board covers. As it now stands, Cath Kidston offers household items, fashion accessories and gifts for all different ages, still inspired by vintage England.

The English Rose has, for centuries, been the inspiration for many a myth, poem, story and even used as an emblem for our national rugby team. It is no wonder that this business and book title resonates so well with the English public, and even provides some British inspiration internationally.

To hear Cath Kidston provide inspiration on the perfect British tale, don’t miss out her talk on 19th July at the Lydia and Manfred Gorvy Lecture Theatre, V&A Cromwell Road, London.
