Off Dutee: the go to brand for cute tees

Off Dutee: the go to brand for cute tees

Sometimes all you need is a simple T-shirt and a pair of jeans and you’ve got an outfit that can speak volumes, especially if you’re wearing an Off Dutee tee.

Off Dutee was created as a result of Sarah Jessica Parker commenting on one of the creators T-shirts by saying “cute tee”. It was a chance encounter in a lift at Vogue HQ while Keeley Porteous and Sarah Phillips were interning that led them to create a unique brand of slogan tees and tanks. Both ladies have a background in fashion and marketing and this led them to create the brand Off Dutee. Off Dutee is a cool and quirky clothing brand that celebrate effortless style for girls who like to be “Off Duty” (Get it?).

The brand taps into that “model backstage” look with premium tees and tanks sporting tongue-in-cheek quotes influenced by the pair’s friendship and pasts. The label is now presenting its A/W collection after the success from 2012. The latest collection is a continuation of Off Dutee’s unique and quirky staples as well as some new and exciting pieces. The Queen B tee makes an appearance in the A/W collection alongside T-shirts with slogans such as “snowballs” and “chalet girls say oui”. They’re all very playful slogans so you won’t find anything offensive on a tee or a tank at Off Dutee. The “double trouble tank” and “life of sin & margaritas” are cute for the summer.

What inspires such a simple collection of T-shirts though? The creators said: “When we originally created Off Dutee we took a lot of inspiration from the model off-cuty girls of Greenwich, Soho and Brooklyn. We wanted to create a luxe jersey range that offered easy to wear pieces. We are continually inspired by culture, travel, cities as well as the model off duty look.”

The tees have progressed so much since the 2012 collection and it will be interesting to see where the duo takes the collection next season. Who knew that SJP would play such a pivotal role in this brands success?
