Jimmy Choo autumn/winter 2014 collection
Jimmy Choo’s autumn/winter 2014 collection can readily be described as an abundance of romance, desire and passion.
Sandra Choi, the creative director, continues to experiment with new proportions, while focusing on the sharp cuts and intricate designs well associated with the design house.
Decadent hues of ink, dark orchid, evergreen and blue green mixed with an infusion of Jimmy Choo’s signature leopard print prevailed, with striking smoke paloma creating a lustrous look centered around the concept of an affair; the inspiration behind the collection.
“The idea of an affair driven by unbridled passion and lust was front of mind when designing the collection. I revisited films that convey a sense of forbidden passion; Wong Kar-Wai’s In The Mood for Love and Les Liaisons Dangereuses, where deception and illusion are key themes,” Sandra explains. “I wanted to play with new perspectives, creating pieces that would be lusted after; you want to covet them.”
A more romantic line is seen with the William Morris-inspired English floral print that commands attention across a muted background on court shoes, booties and sneakers. The birth of the triangular heel with lacquer finish can be seen in the form of the Vanish boo and the Legion shoe which comes with an ankle strap detail and definitely would turn the heads of any man, whether you are having an affair or not.
