Plaits from day to night

Plaits from day to night

From pretty and practical to sultry and sophisticated, plaits are the perfect look when it comes to style and ease. One of the more versatile hair trends, they’re a sure-fire way to take relaxed daytime beauty to lights-down evening glam.

You don’t need to be hairdresser to get into the plait trend; a few small plaits threaded throughout your hair will look really cute and will give you a more interesting textured look. It’s all about playing around with the little plaits, pinning some of them up or making some thicker than others.

An easy way to take your hair from day to night with hardly any hassle is to plait the front parts of your hair on both sides and pin them at the back; it’s simply chic plus a good way to keep your hair off your face in the humidity of the summer, too.

A classic red carpet look, the long side plait has never left the spotlight for a long time. Some smart people might be able to weave themselves an uber eye-catching fishtail version, but if your hairstyling skills leave much to be desired fear not: a side plait is super fast and more than just quick-fix for the transition between casual daytime to evening excitement.

For the more artistically able there are many complex ways in which you can attempt to plait your hair, a waterfall braid – where the plait curves around the back of the hair while the rest of the hair falls through it – is really effective and unusual.

If you need to keep untameable hair neat and tidy from day to night, the boho crown plait, looped around the front of your hair line, is the one for you.

Never fear! Don’t be daunted by the intricate weaving of hair. Take some time to play around with your hair in the mirror, practice a couple of the looks, and you’ll be able to come up with the perfect plait for you and make the move from day to night with smooth ease.
