The best of spring/summer 2015 campaigns

Victoria’s Secret model Karlie Kloss stars alongside 93-year-old fashion icon Iris Apfel in the Kate Spade S/S 2015 campaign. Kloss is styled to look very prim and “Park Avenue” in crisp white, whereas Apfel sticks to her signature bright colours, mixed prints and classic pizzazz. The duo appeal to two very different women and the campaign screams New York.

Have you ever seen such a smiley campaign? Photography legend Nick Knight trades in poses and pouts for giggles and somersaults. Diesel’s whole campaign goes against the grain and refuses to take fashion too seriously. The shoot stars model and Vitiligo Spokesperson, Winnie Harlow who was discovered by Diesel’s creative director, Nicolo Formichetti, on Instagram.

H&M created a Charlie’s Angels-style clip featuring Victoria’s Secret angel’s Adriana Lima, Doutzen Kroes, Natasha Poly and Joan Smalls. The models can be seen dashing from photo shoots and yoga classes on motorbikes, and travelling in helicopters and speed boats to a secluded beach where they showcase H&M’s summer wear. Sun is Shining by Axwell and Ingrosso plays to create the essence of summer.

Coach’s recent Dreamers campaign features 18-year-old actress Chloe Moretz and music artist Kid Cudi. The short clip is dreamy and nostalgic; it shows Moretz dancing and twirling in a garden with her Coach bag, and emphasizes her youthfulness. By selecting fresh young talents for their advertising, last season’s campaign starred Zoë Kravitz and Banks. Coach demonstrates that they are reaching out to a wider audience.

This Justin Bieber ad for Calvin Klein caused a real stir. Regardless of stigma, including parody videos, Photoshop claims and abuse sent to co-star and model Lara Stone, Calvin Klein has gained over 3.6 million new followers across their social media channels since the campaign went live. Naturally there have been comparisons drawn to the original Mark Wahlberg campaign; media pulling out old campaigns is only giving Calvin Klein more coverage. So Bieber, the teen-sensation, is certainly doing exactly what he was paid for.

Parisian actress, Marion Cotillard, stars in Dior’s latest Miss Dior campaign. She looks stunning in the futuristic desert setting, surrounded by solar panels. Although the shoot definitely looks to the future there are nostalgic details in the old pay phone and twill which Cotillard wears. This campaign has more of an edge than previous ones the star has done with Dior, but still has the essence of classic French style.
