Being a world-renowned actor is the life most of us can only dream of. Adored by fans, earning riches upon riches, and the chance to have a job that is as far away from the 9-5 as humanly possible, these celebrities seemingly have it all. Yet, with this fame, there are also a plethora of temptations and risks to avoid. Drugs, financial ruin, and of course affairs, are always around the corner when you essentially have access to anything, or anyone, that you desire.

Obviously, affairs and cheating on your partner aren’t restricted to the rich and famous, many dating sites even offer online chatrooms for the promiscuous ones, in addition to tips on how to cheat without getting caught. However, when your profession results in you constantly being surrounded by attractive and charming peers, holy bonds of marriage and sanctity can all too swiftly go out the window. For the ones that get caught, this can result not only in public shaming, but often a divorce and a hefty settlement.

Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger

This was one dilemma that Arnie couldn’t shoot his way out of. The former Governor of California and star of huge action films such as The Terminator and Predator, publicly admitted that he had cheated on his wife Maria after 25 years of marriage, by fathering a secret child with the couple’s long-serving cleaning lady, Mildred Patricia Baena. The child was 14-years-old when the news broke out, with the divorce being filed on 1st July 2011.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson

No matter if you were team Edward or team Jacob, you couldn’t help but feel sadness of the splitting of Twilight sweethearts Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. The on-screen/off-screen couple called an end to things when it was revealed in July 2012 that Stewart had cheated on Pattinson with 41-year-old Rupert Sanders, who had been her director for Snow White and the Huntsman.

“Speaking very candidly, it was a really traumatic period in my early 20s that kick-started something in me that was a bit more feral.” Stewart said of the scandal. “I lit my universe on fire and I watched it burn. I’m really proud that I am able to move forward and not fall into every mental crater. That’s a new thing for me. Age has made me smarter and calmer and it is f***ing awesome.”

Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston

After four years of marriage with Friends star Aniston, Pitt ended the marriage after meeting the bombshell Angelina Jolie on the set of Mr & Mrs Smith in 2005. While it’s unclear if there was actual physical cheating taking place whilst filming the movie, it’s certain that playing a married couple allowed Pitt and Jolie to get very up close and personal because of their steamy scenes. Pitt and Jolie (often called Brangelina) married in 2014 and now have six kids together, three of whom are adopted.
