Nike Air Max Day 2016

Nike Air Max Day 2016

On Saturday 26th March, we celebrate Nike Air Max Day, a special day for the history of Nike.

In 2014, Air Max Day was created to praise one of Nike’s most iconic trainers, one of which still lives to this day. The brand launched their first pair in 1987, and since released over 50 models. Originally created for running and fitness, the Air Max has gained popularity through subcultures such as hip hop; the trainer also continues to evolve within streetwear culture and the fashion industry.

A large range of Air Max trainers are sold daily worldwide. Nike continues to collaborate design and technology, creating cushioned mid-soles and individual pods to support different parts of the foot within some models.

This weekend, celebrate a day in Nike history. Aside from wearing your Air Max trainers, head down to Nike Town London on Oxford Street, where the store has a NIKEiD space, allowing customers to create their own pair of personalised trainers.

Three of Nike’s most important designers – Hiroshi Fujiwara, Tinker Hatfield and Mark Park – will also share their own customised colour palettes and materials to incorporate within your own NIKEiD.
