How to make the most out of your Netflix subscription

How to make the most out of your Netflix subscription

In today’s world streaming has become the ultimate source of entertainment for film junkies as well as for occasional TV watchers. We want our favourite show available 24/7 and we want it now, from the comfort of our sofas and our own television – that’s why we love Netflix so much, because every tv show and movie we could ever want to watch are all in one place. Here are our top tips to make the most out of your Netflix subscription (in case you didn’t know!).

Do not rely on the ratings

That’s a major mistake people follow when picking any piece of entertainment on Netflix, trusting ratings. Although sometimes they can be truthful to a movie’s quality, most of the times you will find indequate ratings on both good and bad films/shows. Be careful with that, a quick check on IMDB will give you plenty of useful feedback from a community of trusted users.

Oldies but goldies

We are all aware that new releases are exciting and on trend, but we mustn’t devalue how much of a good time we can have watching a nice, timeless classic, or a thrilling 90s flick. We recommend to never miss out to discover old gems, or even rewatch them and perhaps rediscover them. A bit of nostalgia always feels good.

Use a proxy or a VPN

Yes, sometimes it happens that we cannot access Netflix because of a network restriction. Maybe you have an hour-long break from work, or a few hours in between classes, and you can’t resist watch the latest Better Call Saul episode. Or maybe you are currently in the US for work and can’t access your subscription for a silly geo-block: use a reliable VPN and you’ll be able to access your own account.

Check your subscription

This an important tip, and maybe the first one we tend to forget about when taking advantage of our Netflix subscription: lifestyle suitability. It happens to all of us and it’s perfectly normal, not signing up to the right subscription for us. We know we want Netflix but we are really not convinced about how much we’re going to end up really using it. Inform yourself about the different options and if you are not sure, pick the basic one, you will be able to change things up later. Or if you have just bought a brand new 4K HD screen, upgrade to premium and let the highest possible quality amaze you.
