Paul Costelloe spring/summer 2019 collection catwalk show for LFW
Paul Costelloe brought an interesting – and perhaps unexpected – mix to the catwalk for spring/summer 2019.
As usual, his signature elegance was amplified throughout the collection, particularly in voluminous layered mini dresses and dramatic evening gowns. The latter highlighted the décolletage with wide necklines, frequently adorned with heavy floral and jacquard prints.
For this designer, summer is synonymous with parties, so his flamboyant fishtail designs were right on par as they strutted down the runway with a carefree sexiness about them. Even loungewear was glamorised with statement jewellery, producing a beautifully unpredicted ensemble.
The pleasant surprise was a sports luxe theme that arose through vibrant bodysuits shielded with longline tailored jackets in complementary hues. Styled with quiffed hair, ankle boots and fishnet socks, these looks created a welcome sense of 80s nostalgia.
