Festival beauty inspiration
Thinking back to festival beauty of yesteryear conjures memories of putting on mascara on Friday and gradually adding more layers of it on Saturday and Sunday. Is that bronzer you’re wearing in your 2009 Glasto polaroids? Nope, just sand and caked on mud.
But in recent years, festival grounds have transformed from mere muddy fields to bonafide catwalks. Festival season is a chance to pull out all the stops and really get creative with your style. So we’ve gathered some great looks to kickstart your moodboards and get you ready for your next one.
Braids
Braiding your hair is actually a good way to protect it from the sun and dust, and it’s a look that will probably last the entire weekend.
Beachy waves
Curl your hair for day one and let the festival do the rest. Instant, easy wavy hair. Add clips and flowers or small buns to make it more playful.
Dyed hair
Take the colourful festival attitude to another level and dye your hair a crazy colour. Pastel hair, universe hair, really anything goes. If you are back in the office on Monday (RIP) try hair chalk instead of dye!
Glitter
Glitter has kind of become a staple for festivals, maybe because it takes us all back to our childhood or maybe because it makes everything more sparkly. Skip the highlighter and go straight to glitter (just make sure it’s biodegradable!). Or choose some sticky gems to create beautiful patterns.
Metallic tattoos
Speaking of our childhood, festival season is a great time to break out the old temporary tattoos! Perhaps not the bubblegum tattoos, but check out these shimmery, metallic tattoos.
Jewellery
Rings, ankle bracelets, necklaces, anything goes! For festivals the rule is: more is more.
Nails
There is only one golden tip when it comes to festival nails: keep. them. short. You don’t want to carry around extra festival dirt underneath long nails. Keeping them short is more practical and more hygienic.
Bandanas
If you want a little bit of extra protection for your hair a bandana is a stylish and simple way to do it. Use it as a hair tie, a headband or go full Audrey Hepburn.
