Things to look forward to in 2020

Things to look forward to in 2020

The last few months have been filled with disappointment, worry and sadness, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to look forward to. In fact, there are tons of new book releases, music releases, films, video games – and more. Let’s take a look at some of the things you can look forward to in the coming year.

Films

Much of the film industry has been negatively impacted by Covid-19. Several companies delayed their releases, including Disney’s Black Widow and Warner Bros’ Wonder Woman 1984 and In the Heights. Other features such as those produced by Warner Animations were released digitally for audiences as cinemas were forced to shut down.

Some of the movies you can look forward to in the second half of 2020 include horror films Antebellum, A Quiet Place Part 2, Come Play, Candyman; Comedy films Free Guy, The French Dispatch, Blithe Spirit, Connected; Superhero flicks Black Widow, Wonder Woman 1984, The New Mutants; as well as Dream Horse, Fatale, Mulan, James Bond sequel No Time to Die, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, Top Gun: Maverick and Without Remorse.

Video Games

As with films, there are going to be a ton of video game releases in the second half of 2020, many of which were delayed to the end or middle of the year due to production issues during lockdown. Some of the games to launch within the next few months include the Windows Command & Conquer Remastered Collection, Sony PlayStation’s eagerly awaited The Last of Us Part 2, a remaster of SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom –Rehydrated, PlayStation VR game Marvel’s Iron Man VR, as well as other releases including Ghost Of Tsushima, Paper Mario: The Origami King, Destroy All Humans, Marvel’s Avengers, Cyberpunk 2077, Ride 4, Dirt 5 and dozens more.

In addition, we’ll also have information on the upcoming PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles and all the unannounced games that will be released on those platforms. If that’s not enough, there’s going to be a slew of new online games to be excited for including titles inspired by Deadmau5, Game Of Thrones and Gordon Ramsay. Music

Finally, there are going to be dozens of new albums dropping later this year. Between now and December, we’re going to see releases from Lady Gaga with Chromatica, Ellie Goulding, Jack Garratt with Love, Death & Dancing, Norah Jones with Pick Me Up Off the Floor, Bob Dylan with Rough and Rowdy Ways, John Legend with Bigger Love, Major Lazer with Lazerism, Machine Gun Kelly with Tickets to My Downfall, Katy Perry, Landa Del Rey with Chemtrails Over the Country Club and Adele.

There will also be various unscheduled releases from Bon Jovi, Ava Max, Alanis Morissette, Alicia Keys, Cardi B, Evanescence, the Jonas Brothers, Midnight Oil, My Chemical Romance, Post Malone, The Veronicas and Zedd, to name a few.

These are just some of the things you’ve got to look forward to later this year – and there’s plenty more. The second half of 2020 looks to be promising and, we hope, much better.
