Wahaca Paddington introduces the limited-time experience Paloma Grove

Wahaca Paddington is about to launch the Paloma Grove, a limited-time-only dining experience celebrating the much-loved but often overshadowed Mexican cocktail, the Paloma. From 29th April to 31st May, this special offering will be available at the heart of the group’s latest branch in Paddington, central London, just in time for International Paloma Day on May 22nd.

The Paloma Grove is described as an immersive experience, situated in a treehouse-inspired space within the colourful and contemporary setting of Wahaca Paddington. For £55 per person, guests are treated to a sumptuous set menu paired with a selection of Paloma cocktails, starting with a fruity, Paloma-inspired welcome drink upon arrival. Designed for group bookings, accommodating six to eight diners, the shared feast allows participants to enjoy a selection of mouth-watering creations from the food list.

The menu includes starters like Smoky Sonoran Hummus with Tortilla Chips and Toasted Crickets, Sweet Potato & Feta Taquito, Zesty Bean Tostadas, and Roast Potato Esquites. Diners can then choose from three sharing plates such as Lamb Barbacoa, Chimichurri Cauliflower, and Grilled Whole Achiote Seabass. The meal concludes with a blood orange palate cleanser and a Tres Leches Tiramisu, for an immersion into Mexican flavours. The centrepiece is La Paloma Madre, an oversized version of the classic cocktail, prepared tableside and served in a crystal chalice for the whole party to top themselves up at leisure.

Wahaca Paddington is located at Paddington Square, a new dining destination that integrates seamlessly with one of central London’s busiest transport hubs, Paddington Station. The restaurant reflects the vibrancy and style of Mexican gastronomy, particularly from Oaxaca, which served as the inspiration for the group’s co-founders Thomasina Miers and Mark Selby. In line with Wahaca’s eco-commitment, the Paddington site runs on 100% renewable energy, marking it as Wahaca’s most sustainable restaurant to date.

Miers expressed her enthusiasm for the Paloma cocktail and its significance in Mexican culture. She said: “the Paloma is a Mexican classic with its notes of citrus – a refreshing and long-standing favourite of ours. We’ve been making them for years at Wahaca but the opening of our newest restaurant felt like the perfect time to give them the proper attention we think they deserve.”

Wahaca, established in 2007, has been at the forefront of bringing fresh, honest Mexican Market food to the UK, inspired by Miers’ travels and experiences in Mexico.
