Horror film Cuckoo starring Hunter Schafer set for 14th April release on 4K Ultra HD

The new horror film Cuckoo, featuring Hunter Schafer, Dan Stevens and Jessica Henwick, is scheduled to be released on 4K Ultra HD on 14th April 2025. The film, directed by Tilman Singer, previously known for Luz, is also available on Blu-ray and DVD. Cuckoo tells the story of 17-year-old Gretchen, who moves to the German Alps to live with her father and his new family in a seemingly peaceful resort that soon reveals sinister secrets.

Gretchen, played by Schafer of Euphoria fame, experiences disturbing noises and bloody visions shortly after her arrival, which lead her to uncover a horrifying family secret. The setting of the German Alps adds a chilling backdrop to the unfolding mystery, enhancing the film’s eerie atmosphere.

Critics have praised the film, with The Independent hailing Schafer as “a horror heroine for the ages” and the Los Angeles Times remarking that the film is “unlike anything you’ve ever seen”. Collider commends the film for its “sensational performances”, while Slash Film describes it as “ridiculously audacious”.

Cuckoo represents a significant entry into the horror genre this year, offering a blend of psychological terror and supernatural elements.
