Levi’s #MakesOurMark on Shoreditch

Levi’s are a brand known for their jeans but they have recently made a big impact in Shoreditch.

Levi’s have unveiled their latest outdoor advertising campaign as part of the #MakeOurMark project. The campaign, carried out by giant poster specialist, blowUP media, sees the world-famous clothing brand dominate the trendy East London landscape with its most recent campaign aimed to encourage locals and creative talent to explore the arts.

With four giant posters in key locations – namely Old Street, Rivington Street, Brick Lane and Great Eastern Street – Levi’s aims to #Move locals as part of a unique global art project with digital artist Cedric Kiefer, which explores self identity. The posters play a role in a wider marketing strategy which sees Levi’s encourage up-and-coming creative talent from across the UK to contribute words, images and videos through social media channel Twitter, using the hashtags #MakeOurMark and #Moves. The campaign was planned by OMD UK, with bookings by Talon Outdoor.

Adam Jinks, client director at Talon Outdoor, said: “Levi’s was looking to make a bold statement with its #MakeOurMark marketing initiative, which encourages creative expression through traditional OOH, interactive events and social media. blowUP media provided the perfect platform on which to amplify this key message to the right audience in a bustling part of town.

Aimee McKay, sales director for blowUP media UK, explained: “This is the ultimate example of an advertising campaign that’s a perfect fit for its surroundings – it targets the East London trendy fashionistas, along with the culture vultures who inhabit and peruse the area. The measure of a strong outdoor advertising campaign is how well it engages with its audience and Levi’s has achieved just that in Shoreditch. Having opted to go with our East London Domination package, Levi’s has delivered a meaningful campaign in the heart of one of London’s on-trend areas. The simply executed artwork bears with it a strong message that less can most definitely mean more when it comes to striking outdoor advertising.”

Clearly these aren’t pieces of art you can just nip out and see, unless you live in London, of course. However, if you are ever in London, it is worth heading over to Shoreditch to check out these Levi-inspired compositions.
