Is there a better feeling in the world than bringing home heaping bags of newly bought clothes? Though it might be tempting to hit Primark and other cheap and easy fast fashion stores, it might not always be the best thing for your conscience. This autumn why not add some good karma to your wardrobe and let this list take you to ethical fashion Valhalla.
Gather&See

H&M
It can be hard to find ethical fashion at reasonable price for fashion victims. Luckily there is Swedish fashion staple H&M, which is committed to “making fashion sustainable and sustainability fashionable”. H&M has been focussing on organic cotton for years and has now added the Conscious tag to items that fit their commitment to sustainable style. One of their aims is to find alternative materials and new techniques of making clothes so don’t be surprised if you find recycled plastic in the accessories aisle.
MATT & NAT
Speaking of interesting use of materials, vegan fashion brand Matt & Nat uses cork to make wonderfully unique bags. Matt & Nat stands for MAT(T)ERIAL + NATURE and that sums up perfectly what M&N is about: using non animal-based materials and finding new ways of creating products in an eco-friendly manner. Not only is their philosophy something we can get behind, the end result is stunning.
Charity shops
If there is one thing that Macklemore taught us it is that recycling isn’t just for trash. Vintage stores are no longer just for hipsters, they are for the fashion and environmentally conscious as well. Charity shops are great places to find unique items whilst at the same time supporting numerous great causes. Furthermore there are many great thrift stores in London, such as East End Thrift Store and Leftovers. It might be a tad more difficult to find exactly what you want but if you go in with an open mind you might come out very pleasantly surprised.
