Amy Winehouse foundation to open recovery home for women

It has been five years since Amy Winehouse’s death and the launch of the Amy Winehouse foundation. The foundation strives to help young people and follows three core values: to inform and educate, to provide support, and to help with personal development. Aside from Winehouse’s passion for soul music she also had a desire to help young people.

The foundation is set to open a recovery home in East London, for women aged 18-30, battling drug and alcohol addictions. The home will be named Amy’s Place and it will allow women to undertake a three-month programme to help them battle their addiction. Amy’s Place will house up to 16 women, and upon completion of the programme, a series of meetings and workshops will take place, allowing the women to maintain their treatment process.

Through the creation of this recovery home, a place of safe conformability will be offered to women who want receive help during their process of permanently eliminating an addiction. The Amy Winehouse foundation has had support from Centra and Circle Housing and will open its doors on 22^nd August.
