Will you be bold enough to wear a Thakoon creation in 2012?

Will you be bold enough to wear a Thakoon creation in 2012?

Since starting his own fashion line in 2004, there has been no turning back for Thai born Thakoon Panichgul, and one thing you can most certainly say about him is that he has never been shy with his use of colours. Raised in the US, this young, innovative man consistently demonstrates that he has drawn inspiration from different cultures and surroundings. His creations have daring, eye-catching prints with Asian and exotic influences.

Thakoon’s lines of clothing, shoes and handbags are bright and feminine, but manage to romantic and sensual at the same time. He designs mainly for women oozing with self-confidence, but his designs also have the power to change a woman and make her reach a new level of independence and certainty about herself.

Having started out in production and merchandising, the turning point in Thakoon’s career came when he began working for Harper’s Bazaar as a trendsetting forecaster and writer. This background in fashion meant Thakoon was well aware of the ins and outs of this industry and helped ease him into creating his own line.

Thakoon’s eye for detail makes his work unique. Orange can be combined with turquoise as well as violet – it’s all about mixing and matching the various outfits and accessories. This elegant violet dress with orange embroidery just flows on a woman’s body, embracing her femininity. Match the dress with this orange clutch and you are ready to go for a nice lunch on a patio, where I can guarantee every woman will be jealous of your outfit.

Or try this lively print, which you can dress up or keep casual. I would personally team this dress with a pair of Thakoon’s turquoise pumps, and that is what is wonderful about these collections, the versatility.

Thakoon has definitely made an impact upon the fashion world, already having an array of followers worldwide. To see his creations, check out his website by clicking here.

Now the question is, when will you be wearing a Thakoon original?
